About Us

Chris, from Washington State, and Christl, from Bavaria, were married in Germany in 1986. Chris is a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft, where he has worked since 1991. Christl is a homemaker and preschool teacher. They have four children adopted from Korea and India. The family lives on a small hobby farm in Duvall, WA where they produce much of their own food. They work a large garden and raise chickens, turkeys, pigs, and a steer or two, in addition to their wonderful sheep. Chris’ hobbies include shepherding and farming, playing French horn and Alphorn, playing soccer, teaching Sunday school and reading. Christl enjoys gardening, cooking, spinning, knitting and other fiber arts.
